Privacy Policy

allrides is a free search engine for cars for sale at local dealerships, operated by Allrides LLC. You can use it without an account, and we never ask for your name, email, or phone number to search. We collect only what we need to show you the right cars and keep the site fast and working. We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we never give dealerships your details.

1. Information We Collect

• Your ZIP code. We use a ZIP code so we can show cars near you, sort results by distance, and let you limit a search to a radius you choose. When you first visit, we estimate an approximate ZIP code from the general location our hosting provider (Vercel) derives from your connection, so nearby cars appear without you typing anything. Your IP address is not sent to any other company for this. You can change the ZIP code at any time, and we remember your choice on your device so you don't have to enter it again.
• Searches and browsing. Pages you visit, filters you apply, and cars you view. We also keep the words typed into the search box so we can teach our search to understand what shoppers mean. Searches are stored without an account, cookie, or device ID attached, so they are not linked to you, and we remove anything that looks like an email address or phone number before storing them. Please don't type other personal details, such as your name or address, into the search box.
• Dealer activity counts. We count how often each dealership's cars appear in results, get viewed, and get clicked, and how often its phone number or website is used. These counts are not tied to you. They help us improve results, and we may share combined totals with a dealership (for example, "your cars were viewed 120 times this week") — never who viewed them.
• Analytics and performance. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights receive page views, referrers, general location, and device, operating-system, and browser type, plus page load times, so we can see which pages help shoppers and keep the site fast. When enabled, Google Analytics receives limited page-view information, and PostHog receives page-view and page-exit events with timing information.
• Advertising measurement. If you arrive from one of our Google ads, Google Ads may receive page URLs, advertising identifiers, and browser, device, and interaction information so we can tell which ads bring shoppers to allrides. This applies only to eligible U.S. visitors (see section 4).
• Error reports. When something breaks, Sentry receives a technical report (the page, browser, and what went wrong) so we can fix it.
• Standard request logs. Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser information to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and keeps short-lived request logs.
• Dealer interest form. If your dealership asks to be listed, we collect the dealership's name, website, approximate inventory size, and dealer management system, and the contact person's name, phone number, and email.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Show cars near you and sort them by distance.
• Make search understand what you type and return better results.
• Keep the site fast, find and fix bugs, and protect it from abuse.
• Understand which pages and features help shoppers, and which ads bring them to us.
• Reply to dealerships that ask to be listed.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we do not share it with dealerships — when you call or visit a dealer using the contact details shown on allrides, you do so directly. We share information only as described below:

• Service providers that run parts of allrides for us and may use the information only to provide their service: hosting, analytics, and performance (Vercel); our database (SpacetimeDB); analytics (Google Analytics, PostHog); advertising measurement (Google Ads); error monitoring (Sentry); and email delivery for the dealer interest form (Resend).
• Dealerships may receive the combined activity counts described in section 1, which do not identify anyone.
• Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the site.

4. Cookies, Local Storage & Measurement

We remember your ZIP code with one functional cookie and your browser's local storage, so the right cars load as soon as you arrive. Your theme and saved cars are stored only in your browser. You can clear or block this storage in your browser settings, although your location and preferences will then reset.

• Google Ads measurement may use cookies or similar identifiers to attribute visits to ads. We send Google a Restricted Data Processing signal and disable ad-personalization signals, and we do not build remarketing audiences.
• We do not permit Google or our other service providers to use allrides data to track you across unrelated websites for personalized advertising.
• Google Ads, Google Analytics, PostHog, our search log, and our dealer activity counts run only when our hosting provider identifies the visit as coming from the United States. They do not run for EEA, UK, Swiss, or other non-U.S. visitors.
• We honor Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals by not running any of the measurement listed in the previous item.
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights run only for U.S. visits and are cookie-free. Vercel identifies a visit using a request-derived hash that resets after 24 hours and does not link analytics to an individual or IP address.
• When enabled, PostHog runs without cookies, automatic click capture, or session recording. Sentry session replay is turned off.

5. Data Retention

• Your ZIP code stays on your device until you change it or clear your browser storage.
• Search text and dealer activity records are not linked to an account, cookie, or device ID. We keep them to measure trends and improve search.
• We keep dealer interest submissions while we are working with that dealership, and delete them on request.
• Analytics, measurement, error, and request-log data is kept according to our settings with each provider and their terms.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, including Texas and other U.S. states with privacy laws, you may have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access, correct, or delete it, to get a copy of it, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising, or profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising or profiling. To make a request, email us at contact@allrides.com. We will respond within 45 days and will not treat you differently for using your rights.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the word "Appeal" or by emailing contact@allrides.com with "Privacy appeal" in the subject line. We will answer your appeal within 60 days and explain our decision. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact your state attorney general; Texas residents can file a complaint with the Office of the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

7. Security

allrides is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to the data we hold is limited to the people and services that need it. No website can guarantee perfect security, which is one more reason we collect as little as we can.

8. Children's Privacy

allrides is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy here and update the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we collect, use, or share personal information, we will also post a prominent notice on allrides before or when the change takes effect.
